However, it is still one of the largest search engine and online database of free videos. Putlocker is considered one of the best options when you want to find TV series or a movie. Apart from that, it also offer many different kinds of videos. As long as you have no intention to distribute any copyrighted content, or download it, you are safe. Unlike Yesmovies, Putlocker offers links to the content hosted on a few third-party servers. It also claims on the home page that any legal issue should be directed to the owners of such servers. Why Apkafe is the best alternative to Google Play StoreHow to watch the famous series Star Wars in orderYou start at number one and end at number nine. As simple as that, don’t know what you’re looking for here exactly there’s not much more to it. Just kidding, there are multiple ways to watch the famous series. People ask in what order should they watch the Star Wars series for the timeline to be correct. The beautiful truth is that you can mix it up a bit and still achieve great results. Original order The first way to watch the Star Wars movies is to do it in order of release. Start with A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. This means you would watch the first trilogy that follows the saga of Luke Skywalker, a young male living on the desert planet of Tatooine with his Uncle and Aunt. Like with most stories he is called to adventure when he finds an old droid that leads him to an old Jedi Knight. From here Luke goes on a long and dangerous journey through the galaxy. Next, you watch episodes 1-3, A Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. They tell the story of how Darth Vader and the Empire rose to power. These three movies act as a prequel to the original series. Finally, you watch the last two movies, or 3 if the last one has released yet by the time you’re reading this. These are known as the sequel trilogy. And finally you watch the sequel series, episode 7-9. They follow Ray, a young girl that learns the ways of the force and tries to find the extinct Jedi Order. Watching Star Wars this way gives you the experience someone had that followed the series from the first release, way back in 1977. This is the most authentic way to experience Star Wars the way George Lucas intended. Chronological order The second way to have an all-out geek marathon and connect with the force is to watch the movies in chronological order. You start the story at episode 1 and work your way through to the end. Using this method will show you the story in a linear fashion. For someone watching the series for the first time, it might be a shock to see that Anikan Skywalker, one of the trilogy’s heroes, turns into the infamous Sith Lord Darth Vader. On the other hand, this spoils the great plot twist that Lord Vader is Luke’s father. Come to think about it, maybe I shouldn’t spoil the story for people coming here hoping to find out how they should watch the films for the first time. Well, life isn’t fair in any case... and Snape killed Dumbledore. This method is also known as the timeline order of the Star Wars movies. Flashback method The flashback method is a unique way to watch the series. To execute this you start at episode 4 and follow up with 5. Afterwards, you initiate the flashback by watching episodes 1 to 3 and round it off by watching the last episode of the original series. Finally, you can watch the new trilogy for nostalgic purposes. If someone is watching the series for the first time, I would recommend doing it in this manner. Purest Fan This method is used by the diehard fans that prefer to enjoy Star Wars the way it’s meant to be enjoyed. These fans tend to be extremely critical of some of the movies and some only recognise the original trilogy and nothing else. If you want to experience Star Wars in a way that says “I had no friends in high school”, try the purest fan method. The method combines the flashback method with a twist. You follow the flashback method exactly, but you remove episode 1. The purest fans don’t recognise this film as true part of the Star Wars story. This is due mainly to the character named Jar Jar Binks. The character’s on-screen goofing around seemed to anger a lot of nerds. Thus, if you happen to find yourself in a group of people that live in their parent’s basement and wear Jedi robes with lightsabers hanging on their waists. It would be wise not to bring up the name of the “Unspoken Episode”. Modern fan
If you want to join the Star Wars fan base along with thousands of others, a little bit late. A modern fan way is still an acceptable option. There are two ways to do it. The first is to watch the sequel series and follow that with the Original and then the prequel. The second is to use the flashback method after finishing the sequel series. This method is most popular with anyone born after 2000 and people who had a social life during the release of the first six movies. Bass Ackwards The final way to watch the series is probably recommended for people who have already seen everything more than twice and just want to spice things up a bit. Here you start with the sequel series, episodes 7 to 9, then watch the prequels, episodes 1 to 3, and end with the original three movies. This means you are watching the series in complete reverse according to the release dates of the movies. Stop reading and watch Star Wars, you must I hope that you found these methods useful for planning a peek into a galaxy far, far away. Star Wars have a very popular movie series and has splintered into other TV series and book series that are very successful. The franchise is simply one of those that everyone should watch. I apologise for including a spoiler or two, but if you’ve not encountered some of these spoilers up to date, this must be your first time on the internet and in the real civilized world. If that is the case, this is one of the more pleasant experiences that you’ll have here. What are you still doing here, don’t you have an epic series to get lost in? Go ahead and enjoy one of sci-fi’s best creations. If you’re a seasoned Star Wars veteran, I hope the post was helpful and you learned something new. If you’re new to Star Wars, you’re in for a great time. May the force be with you. The Best Will Smith Movies of All TimeWhen it comes to the world’s top actors, Will Smith is on the bill. The man has had a stunning career that has risen him to prominence as one of Hollywood’s top assets. After bring joy to the lives of young viewers in Fresh Prince and rapping a theme tune that has been petitioned to replace the US national anthem, and onto starring in some of the biggest grossing movies of all time, Will Smith is the man. Let’s have a look at some of his best films. Independence Day The 1996 classic of the alien bashing franchise is one of the best movies to be released in the decade and still stands as one of Will Smith’s best movies. Playing the role of a US fighter pilot, Smith gets tangled in a war to end all wars as alien ships take up position across the world and begin destroying humanities proudest achievements. The ensuing dog fights see Smith and his fellow fight pilots battling it out across the skies against far more advanced alien fighter ships and eventually becoming totally overwhelmed. The plot thickens as Smith’s friend discovers a code that the invaders are using to keep up the shields which are preventing the human race from attacking the alien ships directly. Humanity must now devise a plan to meet the aliens head on before they finish the job of wiping out the human race and harvesting the planet’s resources. This mission takes Smith into one of the alien crafts and into space to the ‘Mothership’ where they must deliver a nuclear payload that will disable it and all the other ships that came from it. This is an action packed movie that will have you on the edge of your seat while still giving you plenty of laughs along the way. Absolute classic – Will Smith at his macho best. I am Legend This more recent movie – released in 2007 – sees humanity in a slightly less favorable position. Most of the human race has been wiped out by a disease that turns them into horrible monsters that fear sunlight. Being the only person left alive, and the only one who is immune to the disease, Smith is a scientist working on a cure for the problem. This means he must get into close proximity to the monsters that plague what’s left of earth. The thing is, when you’re the only person left alive, the monsters aren’t the only thing that threatens you. Smith did a fantastic job of portraying the insanity experienced by someone whose only companion is a dog and some Bob Marley records. Watching him nervously try to flirt with a manikin in a record store while also trying to make sure he’s home by nightfall so as not to be ripped apart by violent zombie-like beats is thrilling. Things take a complex turn when Smith discovers that he might not be the only person left. Wild Wild West This is one of the classics – a western movie with a comical edge and a soundtrack rapped by Will Smith himself. A fun trivia about this movie is that Smith actually turned down the role of Neo in The Matrix to star in it. The movie is about a villainous inventor who is trying to assassinate the president. When the president learns of this, he sends a Smith, a civil war hero to arrest him. The movie is a hilarious and action-packed ride that features a giant robotic spider and lots of other crazy things. For a feel-good action movie, this is a great choice. Let’s just leave this wondering what Will Smith would have been like in The Matrix… Men in Black (MIB) Another absolute classic, the Men in Black franchise is one of the most recognizable movies of all time – again, Will Smith did the theme song. The movie sees the alien-squad agents, the Men in Black on a mission to stop extra-terrestrial terrorists from assassinating two alien ambassadors in New York City. It comes packed with big guns, sunglasses and that little light-flash thing that erases people’s memories. The comedy action has had several sequels and the original grosses more than half a billion dollars at the box office. The Pursuit of Happyness Based on the life of Chris Gardener, a successful entrepreneur. The Pursuit of Happyness sees Will Smith struggling as a failing salesman with his young son while sleeping rough on the street and not even being able to afford a taxi. Smith is intelligent and driven, and determined to make a better life in for himself and his son. The movie’s title is misspelled – Smith sees a sign outside the daycare centre of his son that complains that they’ve spelt ‘happiness’ wrong, thus the movie takes its name from this, coupled with the idea that the American dream eventually facilitates the pursuit of happiness, regardless of your background or position on the social ladder – but only for those who reach out for it. By chance he encounters a stockbroker getting out of a flash car outside the stock exchange, and he asks him what he does for a living to make such big money. Smith decides that this is the route he will take and he makes every effort to get the time of the stockbroker. Eventually his efforts pay off and he is enrolled as an intern in the company where he demonstrates his abilities and goes on to be one to the most successful stockbrokers of all time. This is a beautiful movie that shows that even in hard times, there is still hope if you don’t give up. Wrapping Up Will Smith is a great actor, and this is reflected in the titles mentioned above. Give them a try now to see what you’ve been missing out on all this time. Enjoy! The best classic movie, watch them before you dieStorytelling has been an important part of every culture for thousands of years. Since the 20th century, we acquired the ability to tell these stories with moving pictures we call films. Movies are the modern way of storytelling and the visual medium is bigger than ever. In 1959 Alfred Hitchcock sent North by Northwest into the world. The master director was well known for his gripping thrillers and this movie is exactly that. After being mistaken for a spy the main character needs to avoid death around every corner and protect his love interest. 2001: A Space Odessy is a look into the future through the eyes of a 1960’s teenage nerd. Stanley Kubrick received mixed reviews for the execution of the film. The film takes place in four stages, where the first is focused on our primitive ancestors and the rest on space exploration. The film gained a cult following in the years to come and Hal the artificial intelligence of the ship will be remembered by geeks and movie connoisseurs alike for decades to come. The above-mentioned movies set the standards for the films we watch today and has deserved to be called classics. We saw some of the best work of directors like Hitchcock and Kubrick that modern directors study in a religious sense. Modern classic movies Moving into the modern era where movies have become a bit more mature in style, graphics and content. What do our modern times consider as classics? The 1970s and 80s saw a rise in the action and horror genres. More great directors poked out their heads and brought some amazing stories to the silver screen. One of the most notable directors to emerge from the shadows is none other than Quinten Tarintino. Writing and directing the likes of Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Django Unchained and Inglorious Basterds. It is debated that Pulp Fiction can be considered as the best movie of all time, only rivalled by The Godfather part 2. Some other modern classics include: Jurassic Park. The movie is a prime example of a modern classic. Directed by Stephen Spielberg the movie follows a group of people in a park that developed methods to resurrect dinosaurs. The film blew audiences away with stunning graphics and a family-friendly storyline. Die Hard is part of the action movie genre boom (pun intended). The film was released on Christmas day and some people watch it annually as a tradition. The Blair Witch Project was the first of the found footage horror genre that was the origin of some outrages rumours. The movie was known for having large numbers of audience members walk out during the screening, because of the shaky footage and the extreme real feeling the story gave off. The movie follows a camera crew that embarks on a quest to find the elusive Blair Witch. The footage was marketed as the found footage of a missing group of investigators. Mars Attacks. This one is for the comedy lovers. Martians invade earth and humanity needs to survive. Funny, action-packed and overall entertaining. Mars Attacks is a great way to spend a Friday night. Classic Disney Movies Uniquely animation saw a large uprising in the modern era. As a result of improving technology, the Animation genre made some unforgettable films that are cemented in movie history. Disney alone would go on to produce some classic movies that would be enjoyed for years to come by young and old.
Lion King. There would be no other way to start the list of classic Disney movies other than the original 1994 Lion King. The story makes you angry, sad, happy, confused and in the mood to karaoke along with all the songs. Tarzan. Bringing the old legend to life in cartoon form, Tarzan is a must watch for little boys or girls that like climbing trees. Beauty and the Beast. Another title on the list that received a remake in recent years. Based on an old fairy tale, like most of the Disney Princess movies. Dance and sing along with furniture to catchy songs and see what chores household objects would do if they were alive. Other animations that were not produced by Disney, but still worth the watch are: A Bug’s Life. Take a trip into, well a bug’s life. Join an Ant in an epic adventure where he discovers himself and life away from the colony. Toy Story is a favourite amongst many children. See what Toys get up to when you’re not around and how day to day life is in the bedroom of a young boy. The animations are a must watch for adults and children alike, just check the age restrictions on the other films before your children see something they shouldn’t. Like a timeless classic. These best sci-fi movies will satisfy your love for science fiction
Big fan of sci-fi? It’s traditionally one of the hardest genres to bring over from the page to the screen. With so many epic sci-fi novels out there (often written by scientists) laying out complex worlds, alien civilizations, and utopian/dystopian political and social orders, finding a half-decent new movie can be tough.
Of course, there was the 80’s sci-fi classics like The Terminator, Back to the Future, Tron, Bladerunner, and Star Wars - but they were always movies, and as far as sci-fi TV shows went… well, we’re not saying there’s no value in Star Trek, but come on now, times change. With the advent of Netflix and Amazon TV, billions of dollars are being pumped into original new series of multiple genres - and sci-fi has become one of the most popular choices for great new shows and movies that are building up loyal followers thanks to their epic storylines (often based on books), high budget special effects, and top class acting. In this article, we’ll go through some of the best new sci-fi releases in recent years, so you know what to watch. We’ll also list some great sites to watch them all for free. The best new sci-fi movies With so much new stuff coming out at the moment, it’s hard to keep up. In this article, we’ll stick to the movies to make things a little easier to digest. We’ll come back to TV shows in a future article. Don’t worry, we won’t throw in any spoilers. Annihilation - 2018
This was an instant hit. Being released straight to Netflix (which usually spells doom), the movie proved to be a well thought out masterpiece. Director Alex Garland (Ex Machina, writer of The Beach, 28 Days Later) gives us a deeply character-based story that explores the fragility of humans and our self-destructive nature.
The movie follows Natalie Portman as she and her fellow scientists enter a mysterious alien phenomenon called ‘the shimmer.’ The shimmer is a blur that emerged from a lighthouse after an asteroid collided with earth - it then preceded to grow larger, and nothing that goes in comes out, apart from one soldier, who is rapidly dying as a result of going in. The team of scientists, all with their own weaknesses and struggles, enter the shimmer to reach the center, find out what it is, and ultimately stop it from growing. In the process, they uncover a horrific, yet beautiful world inside the shimmer, and eventually have to confront their own fragility as human beings. Star Wars: Rogue One - 2016
Following the shambles that was Episode VII: The Force Awakens, Disney’s follow up spin-off of the space series turned out to be a massive hit. Rogue One takes place in-between Episode’s 3 and 4. The focus of the plot is the rebel alliance’s attempt to steal the plans for the Death Star.
This epic movie features tons of epic action scenes, long battles, and provides visualizations of planets from the saga that have never previously been seen in such great detail. The character development is brilliant and the acting top-notch. Whether you’re a Star Wars fan or not, this movie is worth a watch - in fact, it can be enjoyed even if you’ve never seen any of the Star Wars movies before. Tau - 2018
This movie is both beautiful and tense. It follows the story of a woman kidnapped and stored in the house of a tech executive who performs psychological torture on her with the intent of completing a complex AI computer program. The house is defended and managed by an AI software called Tau, who narrowly prevents the girl’s escape from the house.
The AI takes the form of a computer program but can interact with things in the house by activating doors, tools, and a terrifying robot. The girl must talk with Tau and teach it things in an effort to convince it to side with her and set her free from the house. While the movie got low ratings, the concept is very interesting and it’s certainly worth a watch. There are several points that highlight the complexity of AI and human relationships. The Expanse (Series)
Okay, so we said we’d just stick to movies, but we lied. The Expanse is possibly one of the best sci-fi shows ever made and is still massively underrated. After being dropped by the Sci-Fi Channel, it was picked up again by Amazon and now has a new season in the making.
The show is set sometime in the future, where the earth is governed by the UN, Mars is an independent military power, and the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter has been colonized by people now known as ‘belters.’ There is a cold war situation between Earth and Mars, and a revolution brewing among the belters. All the while, some mysterious stealth ships of unknown origin start casing a fuss, and threaten to cause a war between the major players. On top of this, a mysterious blue crystal called ‘protomolecule’ has been discovered in the belt - and it can do some very interesting things. With a war on the horizon and mysterious things happening in the belt, The Expanse provides viewers with an intense and binge-worthy story that develops in unexpected ways, as well as a cast of characters unrivaled in modern sci-fi. If you’re looking for a nail-biting new favorite show, then look no further than The Expanse, you won’t regret watching it and will wonder why you’d never picked up on it before. The best old horror movies that will totally scare youPlanning an evening in – curtains shut, lights off, and popcorn in hand’s reach? Get your thrills on with these top rated horror movies from the 80’s. Each one of them has their own story – some of them even drove people insane. The 1980’s were a definitive time for horror movies. Whereas before the genre was defined by over-the-top, cliché horror scenes like zombies, monsters and the undead, the 1980’s raised the bar to allow for some mind-bending plotlines and deeply engaging characters. They opened up the door for a number of franchises, brought some of the most recognizable characters in Hollywood into our nightmares and left a whole lot of people sleeping with the light on. If you are a big fan of sci-fi, don't forget to check out this article: The Best NEW Sci-Fi Movies to Watch Right Now - Jump In The Best Horror Movies of the 1980’s The Shining This classic from Stanley Kubrick is without doubt one of the most iconic and best horror movies of all time. The movie sees Jack Nicholson and his wife Shelley Duvall move to an isolated empty hotel to look after the place for the winter. Nicolson, a writer, jumps at the opportunity to get some creative work done, although he underestimates the psychological impact that the solitude and the hotel itself will have on him. The original story was written by horror legend Stephen King, and some of the scenes that live on in the collective imagination of people today include eerie twins, axes being hacked through bathroom doors, rivers of blood bursting out of elevators, and smooth bartenders. If you’re looking for a psychological horror movie that is both tense and thoughtful, where you can’t help but side with the charm of Jack Nicholson's evil character, even as he descends into madness, then check this movie out. A Nightmare on Elm Street Again, without doubt one of the most iconic horror movies of all time. A Nightmare on Elm Street reminds us that we’re not even safe in our dreams. The terrifying 1984 flick was directed by horror legend Wes Craven and follows the tale of Freddy Krueger who murders kids in their dreams, and then later comes into the real world to take the slashing to the next level. The movie has you sat their yelling at the screen as people who promise they’re not going to fall asleep inevitably do so and then cannot wake again as their friends see cuts appearing all over their body while they frail around in a state of unconscious agony. This is a must watch for any horror fanatic – just remember that you’ll be having some awful nightmares for days to come. Children of the Corn Another Stephen King story brought to the big screen in 1984 to terrify everyone and make people distrust kids. This movie is particularly creepy as the children are the main villains. A couple find themselves lost on a trip and discover the corpse of a small child – they then find a town that is inhabited only by children. Weird, right? As it turns out, the children are being led by a charismatic young boy who has convinced them to kill all of the adults in the town – probably not going to fare well for the adult couple who have just arrived in town. Think being chased through cornfields at night by psycho kids, a bunch of cult like murder-children, and a demon that could be real or not. This is a truly eerie movie that will make you appreciate the work of Stephen King to a whole new level. The Lost Boys Okay, so this one lacks in the scary department, but it could still be considered a horror (or at least a satirical one). The Lost Boys is one of the cult classics of the 80’s and still has a massive following today. The movie follows a bunch of kids who become aware that some of the teenagers in the town are vampires. They try to convince the adults, but to little success, and have to go about dealing with the problem themselves. Things are complicated when one of their older brothers becomes one of the vampires. This cult classic is great for its funny action, great soundtrack and pop culture references, that being said, it’s also just a great movie in its own right. The Evil Dead This zombie classic from 1981 could be called ‘dated’ although it’s still an awesome movie. The flick follows five college kids on holiday in a cabin in the woods (what could possibly go wrong), where they find an audio tape that opens the door to evil spirits which then terrorize them – yes, it couldn’t possibly be any more 1980’s… While the effects aren’t what you’d expect to find in The Walking Dead, this is still a great zombie movie that helped to define the genre into what it is today. Considering it was made on a tiny budget, it’s impressive in hindsight. This was also one of the many 80’s horror movies where the cast and crew had a horrible time filming it – no one died though, which is more than can be said for our final movie. Poltergeist We’ve listed psychological horrors, slashers, zombie flicks, creepy kids and vampires – so it’s only fair that we give the supernatural its fair share. Poltergeist is one of those horror movies that is marred in a cloud of genuinely uncomfortable circumstances. The movie was written by legendary director Steven Spielberg and was released in 1982. Shortly after its release, the star of the movie tragically died, and then another young actor died when filming the second installment of the franchise. This has led the movie to be considered ‘cursed.’ It’s about a young family being terrorized by a wicked ghost and features all sorts of creepy goings on – you won’t want your TV to turn to static after watching this one, we guarantee that.
